Phone System Upgrade Complete

The new phone system upgrade has been completed and new phones have been deployed at all occupied offices and desks. The system is ready for immediate use, however, please read the entire section below which will show you how to log into your phones.
The new phone system offers many new features and options which we will offer training on, however, one of these options is called "Hot Desk", which enables anyone with an assigned extension to log into any phone on any desk so that they can move to different workspaces as needed and still make/receive calls as if they were at their own desk.
During the deployment, we found that a default setting was logging off all phones from their extensions when powering down, and due to the storms in the area during deployment, most HCDE facilities lost power, wiping out the settings from the phones already deployed.
The setting has been corrected, and phones will remain logged on until they are intentionally logged out of by their user.
Rather than physically going to every location and deploying all phones manually again, we are taking this opportunity to show users the Hot Desking feature by asking you to log into the phones yourselves. The process is simple:
1: On the home screen of your phone, select the "Hot Desk" button (this will be either a touch screen button as on the 6940, or a feature button as on the 6915)
2: When prompted for your extension, type in your extension using the keypad. (Your extension is the last four digits of your phone number)
3: When prompted for a password, type the default password: "1111"
If you don't know your extension, don't worry, contact the ServiceDesk by sending an email to servicedesk@hcde-texas.org or go to https://hcde.freshservice.com to open a ticket. Our staff will walk you through the process.

Additionally, there will be Power Hour trainings offered on Thursday, April 10th on how to use your new phone system.
